250-Mile Cycle Challenge for 250 Years

red line

Friends’ School Lisburn is pleased to announce a special event as part of our school’s 250th-anniversary celebrations. Principal, Stephen Moore, will embark on an impressive 250-mile cycle challenge from September 4th to 6th, 2024. This remarkable journey, inspired by our school’s Quaker heritage, serves not only to honour our rich history but also to raise funds for the FSL250 projects.

The Route:
The 250-mile route has been thoughtfully planned to pay homage to our founding principles. Commencing in Kendal, the birthplace of Principal John Gough, who played a pivotal role in shaping our school’s values, the journey will pass through Liverpool, Dublin, Richhill, Moyallon, Lurgan, and Hillsborough.

Connecting to Quaker Heritage:
At each juncture of the cycle, we will pay tribute to our Quaker heritage, emphasising the values and principles that have guided Friends’ School for 250 years. This journey serves as a reminder of the significance of community, compassion, and education in shaping the lives of our students.

Commemorative Cycle Jersey:
As part of our commemorative FSL250 celebrations, we’re thrilled to introduce an exciting addition. We will be designing a bespoke FSL250 cycle jersey. This jersey will not only accompany Principal, Stephen Moore, on his remarkable journey but will also be available for purchase, allowing our community to own a piece of our school’s rich legacy.
